Managers are just a step below organization admins and can be given access to specific inboxes and/or groups within an organization. Account and organization admins can customize manager permissions to enable adding contacts, creating groups, launching goals, and more!
*Group admins will now be known as Managers. A Manager's capabilities and permissions within groups has not changed.
Note: If a manager is unable to perform one of the actions below, their account or org admin may not have enabled this permission. Please contact your admin to review and update the settings of the organization if needed. If you don't know who your admin is, please contact support@hustle.com.
Managers cannot change settings at the organization or account level.
When a manager is added to a group, permissions include (when enabled by an organization admin):
- Creating new groups
- Editing group settings
- Adding contacts
- Launching group goals targeting contacts in their groups
- Exporting group data
When a manager is added to an Inbox, permissions include (when enabled by an organization admin):
- Creating and launching Broadcast goals
- Creating and launching Dialer goals
- Managing Inbox conversations for inboxes they have access to
- Viewing Organization Contacts

How do I add a manager?
Account and organization admins can add managers to oversee groups and inboxes from their organization settings.
To add a manager, admins can go to their organization's Settings > Managers tab > All Managers and either choose from an existing member or invite a new admin by clicking Invite a new Manager. Managers can be added to all groups or inboxes in the organization by selecting the 'All Inboxes' or 'All Groups' options in the Assign to Inboxes or Groups section. Admins can also add managers to specific inboxes and groups.
How do I remove a manager?
Account and organization admins can remove a manager from all groups and inboxes they have access to in their organization's Settings > Managers > clicking the '...' by the manager's name and click Remove.
Note: This will remove the manager from all groups and inboxes they have access to. If an admin wants to add or remove a manager from a specific group/inbox, they can click 'Edit' to adjust the permissions.
Admins can also remove managers from groups by navigating to the Group Settings > Managers > '...' > Remove.
How do I edit a manager's groups or inboxes?
Account and organization admins can edit a manager's groups and inboxes from their organization's Settings > Managers > clicking the '...' by the manager's name and click Edit. Admins can then select or unselect the desired groups and inboxes.
How do I manage the settings of the group?
Managers can oversee the settings of the group they have access to by clicking the Group Settings tab in the admin panel. Here, managers can update the group's name, the location of the group, add a description of the group, set an inbound phone number, and view contact info for other managers in the group.
How do I add contacts via CSV import?
Managers can only add contacts via CSV import if an org admin has enabled this permission in Organization Settings.
Managers can navigate to their group, go to the Contacts tab, click Add Contact and Import Contacts from a CSV file.

How do I set up a group's phone number?
If the group does not have a phone number set up, managers can select one from the Group Settings > Phone Settings > Get Phone Number > Add Phone Number.
Managers can also select a phone number when setting up a goal by clicking Add goal > Get Phone Number and following the steps. See How do I set up a group's phone number? for instructions.
How do I set up an inbound calling number?

Can managers register for 10DLC?
Managers do not have permission to apply, remove or edit TCR Brands or Campaigns on groups they have access to. If you believe you would benefit from this feature please email product@hustle.com.

How do managers launch goals?
Managers can create and launch group, Broadcast, and Dialer goals if these permissions have been enabled by an admin.

How do I export the data in my group?
Managers can export all the data from groups they have access to if this permission has been enabled by an admin. For instructions on how to export the data from a group, see How do I export data from groups?
How do I import lists from VAN?
Managers can import lists from VAN in groups they have access to if this permission has been enabled by an admin. There are a few differences in the experience for managers:
- Custom Fields & Field matching: Managers won't be able to create new custom fields.

Tags: With this permission enabled, managers can create tags when importing contacts from VAN. To create Tags, contact your org admin to turn on this setting.
- Tags are applied to the contacts in the import for use in targeting.
- Tags that have been connected to VAN Activist Codes, Survey Question Responses or Canvass Results will not appear for use in the VAN My List import flow.
- Groups: Managers can only view groups they have access to and may be able to create new groups, depending on their level of permissions.
Note: The integration must already be set up by an org admin. If it hasn't been set up, the manager will be prompted to contact their org admin to get it set up.
How do I use the Inbox?
Managers who are added to oversee Inboxes can oversee conversations for Broadcast and Dialer goals. Managers can reply to contacts, opt out contacts, add tags, edit contact info, add notes, and view custom fields.

How do I view Organization Contacts?
Managers can view Organization Contacts to search through and locate contacts in the groups and inboxes that they have access to. You'll be able to search by standard fields such as Group, Name, Phone Number, Tags and Custom Fields in the organization.
Managers can navigate to the Contacts page from the left hand side menu on the admin panel.
